Beijing-Xi’an Same Day Tour on Bullet Train or Flight
Bullet train between Beijing and Xi’an ranges from 5-6.5 hours
In 1974, farmers dug wells in Xi’an, China, discovered the initial of 4 large pits, including a military of terracotta numbers. Emperor Qin Shi Huang hoped to continue ruling from his tomb for eternity, so he was buried with everything he might need. The army was there to protect him in the afterlife. Before him, the First Emperor of China, there had been no custom of life-size practical statuaries in China. This Word Heritage is worth exploring. Taking a high-speed bullet train is one of the most convenient ways to take a trip between Beijing and Xi’an. The bullet train trip between Beijing and Xi’an runs at about 5-6 hours.
Suggested Itineraries:
A. Take an early fligh from Beijing to Xi’an. Return on a bulle train at 6 p.m. (arriving in Beijing at midnight).
C. Take a bullet train at 6:20 a.m. from Beijing to Xi’an, and take a late everning flight back to Beijing.
A round trip by high-speed train is difficult to fit into one day when each journey takes about five to six hours. Morning and evening flights take about two hours each and may offer more sightseeing time; fares vary.
Our Detailed Plan:
You will take a morning flight at 7 a.m. from Beijing and arrive in Xi’an in just two hours. Or, you can also make an early bullet train at 6:20 a.m. and arrive by 11 a.m. Either is convenient, but flying will give you two extra hours in Xi’an.
The Terracotta Warriors are the priority, so head directly to the museum. Allow about three hours there, including lunch. If the schedule permits, continue to Xi’an’s well-preserved City Wall, which separates the historic center from newer districts.
Following your visit to the City Wall, you'll be taken to the Xi’an train station to go back to Beijing.

A Xi’an Day Trip from Beijing
We had a fantastic one-day tour of the Museum of Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses. Our guide, Daniel, was all we could hope for; he was there to meet us when the overnight train arrived; displayed an immense wealth of knowledge about the site; and was very pleasant and entertaining throughout the day.
I highly recommend this tour and this guide.
